Church in the House Blog
Sunday October 18th 2009
At 10:45 am our regular weekly network meeting took place. However, this week there was a 'first' for every single one of us. Mike Baker formally proposed marriage to Sylvia Matsekeza in the presence of the whole gathering...fortunately for Mike she accepted his proposal. There were hugs, kisses, prayers all round followed by a spontaneous photo shoot!

We were also pleased to welcome a number of first time visitors. These included Paul & Carol Vallence who have been engaged for many years in pioneering (Buckingham), Pastoring (Milton Keynes) and missionary work (France). Paul & Carol have in recent years found their thinking arriving at a very similar place to ours on the question of 'how should church be expressed?'. Hearing of what is 'going on' in the Bromsgrove, Worcestershire expression of 'church in the house' network they came to see for themselves.
We also welcomed another family that had heard about us and it was clear that they felt at home.
Another minister and his wife from Lancashire have visited the Cithnet website. They have just written to say they would like to visit the network when they are next in the area visiting family as 'church in the house' network gatherings 'sound like fun'. So they are...they should have been here last Sunday!!!
The network continues gently in blessing and numbers. Last Sunday we had more people turn up for breakfast than we had room to seat them... If that persists we have another lovely problem to solve....
